By: Janice Lee Mei Xin

KUALA LUMPUR, SEPTEMBER- Jody Hoo, a 19-year-old Malaysian student shares her first picnic experience with her friends during the Covid-19 pandemic season at Perdana Botanical Gardens.

Jody went on a picnic with four of her best friends at Perdana Botanical Gardens to throw a birthday celebration for one of her friends named Pui San.

“We rented a picnic set from an Instagram user @summerjoy.co, they provide different packages to cater for different needs of customers, customers ought to rent a picnic set from them based on their preferences”, Jody added.

“We were lucky enough to rent our picnic set while they’re having promotions”, said Jody.

They got their set for RM99 with a fancy set including a cake, two bags of titbits, a regular size of pizza, a flower bouquet polaroid camera, ukulele and more.

Jody and her friends were really satisfied with the package we rented as they could take many nice pictures with the props and have lunch too.

“We first found a chilly spot under a tree then set up the picnic blanket and the food and props”, we had fun preparing our picnic spot”, said Jody.

Jody said Perdana Botanical Gardens is really a great place to chill in and have a picnic since it’s a recreational park there’s a good view of the Lake Gardens.

“The only thing that we’re unsatisfied is that there would be bugs and ants around our picnic spot since there’s food so we needed to chase the insects away”, Jody said.

“We also had to cut the birthday cake we prepared for Pui San and finish it quickly because many ants were approaching the cake”, Jody added.

“It was a really nice experience since I got to chat and hangout with my close friends in person during the pandemic period, I would definitely go another picnic with them next time”, said Jody.
